Mr. Venkata Anantha Kiran Kona works as a Program Officer at AIT Extension of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), where his primary job is to coordinate training, research and consulting projects, and provide technical inputs wherever possible. His job responsibilities include writing proposals, finding and communicating with required resource/service providers, assist in designing training/capacity building programs, supporting the training implementation processes, and collaborating with service users and learners.
Mr. Kona previously worked as an independent contractor, offering materials and services to the Puducherry Publics Works Department (PWD), Government of Puducherry, India. While working as an independent contractor, he was accountable to the project management, providing required materials, supervision, and managing the onsite work related to the projects.
Mr. Kona holds a Master’s Degree (M.Eng.) in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) specializing in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (RSGIS) from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and he had received his Bachelor Degree (B.Tech.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. His interests and areas of specialization include Remote Sensing, GIS, Spatial Data Analysis, Drone Piloting, Drone Data Acquisition, Machine Learning, Food Security, Nypa Palm Utilization, HealthGIS, Disaster Mitigation, Marine Spatial Planning, and Waste Management.
