This Five (5) days professional development program on ‘The Highways/Bridge Design and Construction Technology’ is prepared in response to a recent request from MSV International, Inc., India Office.

It has a very large presence in USA/ Asia/ Africa/Middle East with 40 offices and a staff of over 1000 people. It has undertaken and executed a variety of infrastructure projects worldwide. Its multi-disciplinary capabilities include expertise in project planning, preparation of detailed project reports and bidding documents, project management, construction supervision, technical audit and safety audits for Expressways/ highways, bridges, tunnels, railways, Water, Sewerage, Sanitation, & Solid Waste Management, buildings, etc.
Recently, MSV International, Inc. has a plan to build the capacity of the officers from the Project Directorate (ADB), Department of Roads, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal.
In this respect, MSV International, Inc. has collaborated with AIT Extension of the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand to organize such a one-week program in Thailand on ‘The Highways/Bridge Design and Construction Technology’.
Objectives
It is expected that, at the end of the course participants will be able to:
- enhance knowledge and appreciate theoretical concepts and principles on highways and bridge design and construction technology;
- gain new ideas on trends and latest technology using in design and construction of highways and bridges; and
- share knowledge and practical experience on financial perspectives on cost control of projects.

PARTICIPANTS: The participants for this course will be 15 officers selected by the Project Directorate (ADB), Department of Roads, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Nepal.
