Training Program on Governance and Anti-Corruption: Hosted for Indian Officials

Public Sector Capacity Building Unit, AIT Extension is hosting a group of Indian Government Officials from various states for a training program on Governance and Anti –Corruption: Methods and Tools Behind an Effective Corruption Eradication Strategy (21 May – 1 Jun, 2012). With a long-standing partnership between AIT Extension and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, AITE has been regularly organizing various professional development programs for Indian officials in Bangkok.

This short course presents a survey of best practices adopted by governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders to eradicate corruption and promote transparency. It reviews elements in public sector management generally known as "good governance," the causes and effects of corruption, and undertakes a comparative study of domestic and multilateral anti-corruption efforts. Also, the course examines the history, foundation and main provisions against corruption and other international instruments to curb corruption. After the training program, participants are expected to draw an anti-corruption strategy that fits their country's individual circumstances.
