On 22 November 2010, AIT Extension received ten mid-level officials from Water Resources Planning Organization (WARPO), Bangladesh for a two weeks professional development course on “Macro Planning of Water Resources and Monitoring of Water Sector Projects”. WARPO, is an apex planning body under the Ministry of Water Resources, Bangladesh. The overall purpose of this course is to provide conceptual and technical knowledge to the participants of WARPO to be able to monitor and evaluate the implementation of its National Water Management Plan and the resulting policies.
The course has been specifically designed to enable participants to learn not only through classroom lectures but also through extensive field visits and interactions which will provide them a real-life experience on how the issues of water management and planning are being pursued in Thailand through various government departments, ministries, local communities and civil societies.
