International Training Program on: Integrated Solid Waste and Wastewater Management (ISWWM) 11-29 Oct, 2010

Agriculture, Resources and Environment Unit, AIT Extension has commenced a tailor-made 3 weeks training program on Integrated Solid Waste and Wastewater Management (ISWWM) for the Government Officials of the Republic of Maldives.

Twelve Government officials, led by Mr. Hassan Moosa, Director General, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ministry of Housing, Transport & Environment, Maldives are attending the program. The program is designed to deal with every aspect of waste management issues and practices (e.g., concerns and issues of waste generation, waste collection, segregation or separation, recycling, dumping, treatment, incineration etc.). In addition, the program also focuses on project management and cross cutting issues related to waste management projects. Above all, the program intends to increase participants’ knowledge towards an integrated and holistic approach of managing wastes for an Island Nation of Maldives.
