This intensive two-week program focuses on theoretical and practical aspect in designing of high voltage substation where the Air Insulated Switchgears (AIS) and the Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) types are applied. Substations are the place where electricity is switched from high voltage to low voltage and vice-versa, ensuring the electricity is safe and fit for usage purposes. Therefore, it essential for the electrical engineer and technician who involved in the design, specification, installation, testing and maintenance of AIS and GIS substations to prepare themselves for moving into the role of a substation designer and operator to ensure the power quality and reliability for its customers.
OBJECTIVE
The course will provide a comprehensive overview of all the technical and application issues regarding AIS and GIS substations. It covers all aspects of design, specification, installation, testing and maintenance of AIS and GIS substations. Also the comparison of both types of substation where we can see its advantage and disadvantages.
