AIT Extension is hosting 22 Managers and Engineers from various Power Distribution Companies of Pakistan for a training program on “Geographic Information Systems (GIS)” (21 May – 01 Jun 2012).
The training focuses on developing the knowledge and skills of the participants on the importance and application of geographic information systems. The participants are expected to learn how GIS technology can be rightly used in various development sectors including energy field. Sessions are arranged to give an understanding and basic hands on experience on the concept, applications and data management in GIS. As a highlight, study visits are also arranged to various organizations and departments in Thailand for a chance to observe best practices on GIS advancement. At the end participants are required to incorporate the lessons learned into an individual/group action plan with reference to the country specific context.
