Executive Development (ED) Training and Study Visit Program for Officers of the AFHQ, Government of INDIA on: Defence Policies, Governance, Administration and Management. 20 – 24 February 2017

This one week Professional Development Training and Study Visit Program on Defence Policies, Governance Administration and Management is to be conducted for Defence Headquarter Training Institute (DHTI), Government of India. Twenty one (21) Armed Forces Headquarters Civilian Officers and one (1) course director from DHTI are attending the training program. 

The one week training and study visits program is part of the 6 weeks cadre training conducted and coordinated by DHTI. The key objectives of this foreign training component (FTC) will allow the officers to have some exposure & experience the best practices of different countries of governance issues and management in defence sector. The major focus of the program  is to have a deeper understanding of the role of civilian personnel in the Defence sector. 

DHTI has collaborated with AIT Extension of the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand to organize this program for one week in Thailand. The primary aim of this professional development training cum study visit program is to provide the participants the latest/new methods and techniques for the emerging concepts in organizational development and human resource management and good governance with special emphasis on Defence Services.  The participants have the chance to exposure visit to best practices in defence administration and management in various Thai defence organizations.

Objective:

At the end of this professional development training cum study visit program the participants are able to:

  • Gain understanding of the government defence policies and strategies in Thailand;
  • Acquire sound practical exposure to various defence development projects & establishments; 
  • Introduce proactive strategies to develop defence industrial policies and private sector participation; and
  • Discuss and exchange information and experiences with counterparts in Thailand about policies and process that will support advancement of national defence.

This program is to be held during 20 – 24 February 2017 at Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok
