This is a five days Customized Professional Development Training and Study Visit Course on Business Competency Development for Food Product Industries is prepared for 8 managers from Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited, Sri Lanka. The program is designed specifically for managers from food industry who are familiar of the challenging tasks of sustainable business development in their organization. The program emphasizes the importance of indicators, linking assessment and planning to outcomes, and managing for results.
This curriculum provides a highly-interactive professional development experience and capability upgrade for defining business goals, manufacturing and quality control processes in the food service industry, food packaging, branding, reporting and evaluating financial performance of a business. It places a special emphasis on strengthening skills in reporting and evaluating financial performance related to food service business, linking planning to indicators and outcomes, and use of data and indicators in commercial business of Thriposha. Its overarching learning objective is to “turn theory into practice,” and give participants the understanding and ability to discuss, present, and manage their business, and influence the performance factors under their control.
The training program will provide an in-depth understanding of the following key topics:
- An introduction to defining business goals and crafting strategies to achieve them
- An overview of manufacturing and quality control processes in the food service industry
- The state of the art in food packaging
- The basics of branding
- Inventory and supply chain management in food processing industry
- Financial performance analysis and management
