Participants: Urban planners and administrators, municipality and city development officials, community development officers, social workers, community leaders and NGO personnel.
Course Brief: This training program aims to enrich knowledge of participants on key principles, strategies and pro-poor solutions to eradicate poverty and bring about better quality of life to the urban poor. The program is designed to equip key players with appropriate tools to plan, manage and monitor projects and programs. The program also highlights issues on community empowerment, community-based organization management and people participation in mobilizing local resources for the development of the communities.
Furthermore, participants will also have an opportunity to visit pro-poor urban housing projects run by communities, land based resettlement projects, micro-finance programs for social development, green city program and income generation programs for poor.
