Participants: Environmental planners, environmental engineers, sanitary engineers and technical staff of local government.
 
Course Brief: This course introduces knowledge on environmental friendly and sustainable waste treatment system and provides guideline for planning and design of appropriate environmental facilities for specific locality. Participants upgrade skills in determining factors influence design, construction and operation of the system. It also gives participants with broader perspectives to evaluate and decide on type of technological know how that suits best with problem context. Course content covers natural waste/wastewater treatment system, constructed wetland, decentralized/clustered wastewater treatment processes, appropriate composting, and ecological engineering and sanitation. Participants also join site visit program to constructed wetland system, composting plants, solid waste collection and treatment stations and community-based waste recycle projects.
